Firefox Browser Scam Alert

Firefox internet browser users need to be aware of a fraudulent tech support message that is popping up and refuses to go away. Scammers are using a bug in Firefox that causes the browser to lock up after claiming that the computer is running a “pirated” version of Windows, it tells victims to call a number to unblock their computer. Neither clicking on OK or Cancel has any effect and closing the browser and reopening just sees the same cycle be repeated. According to the FTC in the US last year victims lost over £40 million to tech support frauds and victims were 5 times more likely to be over 60.
